About this zine

Usopp is a character all of us regular-humans can relate to; from his highs to his lows, he brings a grounding charm to our favorite pirate crew!However, he’s often forgotten or overlooked in the One Piece fandom. When really Usopp offers a lot of potential for story and different scenarios due to his nature of being cowardly, yet brave. Creative, but self-doubting. Personable and loyal, but not afraid to call his nakama out when they're being reckless. He’s a man of contradictions, which makes him complex.That’s where our zine comes in. We hope to provide fellow Usopp fans with much needed content, especially where romance is concerned.What we’re looking for:- 10 writers
- 20 page artists
- 8-10 spot artists
- 1 Digital merch artistThis zine will be released in two versions, a SFW and a NSFW. All contributors will be able to choose which version they would like to work on.We would like some variety in the ships so when applying please give a couple back up ships you wouldn’t mind writing/illustrating just in case a ship has a lot of apps.Back

Rules and FAQ

Zine Rules- All contributors must be 18+ by April 15th 2022.
- No rape/non-con allowed
- For the NSFW zine all characters must be 18+ in current canon, no aging up characters (ex: Rebecca).
- No offensive words, themes, or hate speech.
- All Usopp relationships focused on must be romantic, not platonic.
- No OCs or Y/N, only canon characters allowed.
- Usopp must be the focus.
- Please do not share any work outside the zine until after release day (September 1st 2022)

FAQWill artists be paid?
- Since this will be a free zine, there will be no compensation for contributing.Can you be an artist for this zine if you don’t have previous zine experience?
- Yup! No previous zine experience required to be a contributor.Back

Head Mod: Rika

She/Her @rikafire | Ao3Hiya! I’m Rika! I’ve been a fan of One Piece since 2017 and my love for Usopp started with Water 7. I started this zine because Usopp needs more love! My favorite ship is SanUso but I love pretty much any Usopp ship.

Writing Mod: EvilGu

She/Her @EvilGuu | Ao3I’m EvilGu and I’ve been writing (and, of course, reading) fanfiction for years. I’ve been a One Piece (and Usopp) fan since at least 2006, though I’ve only recently started becoming a part of the largest community online. I’m also an English teacher, so I think I’m pretty good at working with writers to help them create their best work. I’m very excited to work on this project, and to write some of my favorite ship (Usonami).

Art Mod: Kelly

I started shipping them during Little Garden and have been obsessed since. I'm excited to be part of a project with like-minded Usopp lovers!

Contributor Apps

Portfolio TipsWriters:
- 3-5 of your best works
- No more than 2,000 words each
- Snippets from longer works are allowed (please include a link to the longer work).
- Fic examples do not have to be One Piece (or Usopp related) but highly encouraged.
- If applying for NSFW, at least one NSFW fic is encouraged.Artists (applies to page, spot, and merch artists):
- 3-5 of your best works
- Does not have to be One Piece or Usopp related but encouraged.
- NSFW work encouraged if applying for the NSFW zine.

Contributor InformationWriter Specifics:
- All writers will get 10,000 words each MAX. It can all be for one large story or two smaller ones. Also, writers are allowed to split their word count between versions (ex: 5,000 words for SFW and 5,000 words for NSFW).
- Minimum is 3,000 words.
- Each writer will get 3 spot illustrations for their fic (header, followed by 2 additional).Page Artist Specifics:
- Page artists will get to choose which zine they’d like to contribute to.
- 2 full pages or 1 page plus spot art (2 pages optional).
- All artwork must be 300 PPI
- Comics will be allowed for either zine
- Can apply to be a spot artist/merch artist as well.Spot Artist Specifics:
- Spot illustrations will be simple black and white images (think Harry Potter chapter illustrations).
- Each spot artist will be given 1 or 2 fanfics to illustrate for (3-6 illustrations total).
